Chef-restaurateur Richard Wilkins has closed his 104 Restaurant in Notting Hill after seven years trading.

Writing on Instagram, Wilkins stated that he would close the restaurant ‘in its current form’ as ‘now feels like the right time to reset and focus on the next chapter’.

Wilkins describes the venture as an ‘incredible experience’, going on to say, ‘I’m proud of what it’s become and grateful to everyone who has supported it along the way.’

Restaurant 104 opened in 2019 and was run as a solo venture by Wilkins offering both an a la carte menu alongside a five-course tasting menu.

Comprising of six tables, the compact venue offered ingredient-led cooking with its most recent tasting menu included datterini tomato gazpacho, Devonshire smoked eel, wild Cornish line-caught sea bass and matcha souffle.

Wilkins’ previous experience includes Gordon Ramsay Group’s Pétrus in London, Waterside Inn in Bray and Trianon Palace Versailles and Maison Pic in France.
