Multi-category craft distiller Doghouse Distillery has chosen Clapham for its debut bar.

Set to open in May, the drinks list will be built around a range of spirits made at the brand’s Battersea distillery, located just over a mile away.

The Doghouse spirits portfolio includes Renegade Gin, Baller Vodka, Doppelgänger Aperitivo and Debt Collector Moonshine and Whisky, which, according to the business, is ‘London’s first American-style corn whisky made from 100% British grain’.

The bar also claims it will offer ‘London’s largest old-fashioned menu’ as well as whisky tasting flights and old-fashioned flights served on barrel staves.

Pints from local south London breweries including Mondo and Belleville, as well as Guinness, will also feature.

Any spirits not made by Doghouse are to be sourced from small independent producers, prioritising London, British and small businesses where possible.

The food offering will comprise of dishes such as gourmet toasted sandwiches, charcuterie, cheeseboards and Ploughman’s served with pickles.

Guests can choose between an upstairs bar set among over 40 whisky barrels or a downstairs low-lit speakeasy styled like a Nashville honky-tonk bar.

in the evenings the bar will host live music Thursday through Saturday and plans for weekly ‘honky-tonk’ nights.

The opening follows from Katherine and Branden Saunders’ former operation of a micro-brew pub in Brisbane before moving to London. Since 2018, they have also hosted annual summer mini-festivals at the distillery.
