The kitchen at Madhu’s Mayfair will be led by head chef Amit Sharma, whose menus draw inspiration from Madhu’s archive of traditional family recipes, reinterpreted using modern techniques and premium ingredients. Menu details have yet to be confirmed.
The refurbishment is designed to enhance the guest experience at The Dilly, ‘blending timeless elegance with understated modern design’.
Madhu’s says the updated interiors aim to complement the restaurant’s Piccadilly setting while positioning Madhu’s Mayfair firmly within London’s premium dining landscape.
“This reopening marks an important moment for us as a family business. We wanted to create a space that reflects both our heritage and our vision for the future of Indian fine dining in London,” a spokesperson says.
Madhu’s traces its roots back to 1935, when founder Bishan Das Anand started a catering operation in Nairobi, Kenya.
The London arm of the brand began later, when the Anand family opened their first UK restaurant, Madhu’s Brilliant in Southall, in 1980.
Today, Madhu’s operates five restaurants in and around London, as well as an outpost in Istanbul.
The business remains family-run, led by members of the Anand family, including Sanjay and Arjun Anand.
Madhu’s has the same family roots as high-profile Southall-based chef restaurateurs Dipna Anand’s and her father Gulu Anand, but the two businesses are now completely separate.
