West London Italian restaurant Giulia Restaurant has announced it will close in June after a five-year run.

The Michelin Guide-listed restaurant, run by Giulia Quagli and her partner Endris Kerbizi, confirmed the news in a post shared on Instagram, describing the decision as ‘made with a heavy heart’ after ‘much consideration and reflection on the journey we’ve shared with you all.’

The pair also thanked customers, adding: ‘We want to express our deepest gratitude for the support, laughter, and unforgettable moments you’ve brought to our family business.

‘It has been a privilege to serve you, and we are truly thankful for the friendships and memories we’ve built together.’

The caption accompanying the post reads: ‘A new adventure has begun for us, which led to a challenging decision.

‘We may require a few years to focus on our family, but this is certainly not the end.’

Giulia’s opened on Askew Road in 2021 and serves seasonal Italian cuisine with a menu defined by Kerbizi’s commitment to craftsmanship, where everything - from fresh pasta and focaccia to sauces and desserts - is entirely handmade.

The menu currently offers starters such as seared octopus with cauliflower, creamy potato and nduja sauce; asparagus with lardo, cannellini bean purée, brown butter and white balsamic; and beef tartare with pickled cherries, Parmesan and microgreens; followed by mains including roasted suckling pig porchetta with spinach, Tropea onion chutney, turnips and baby carrots; and tuna fillet, caponata and Datterino tomato coulis.

Dessert options feature strawberry and custard millefoglie alongside homemade gelati and sorbets.

Kerbizi’s previous experience includes roles as junior sous chef at the Bulgari Hotel London and chef de partie at Corinthia London.

In its closing message, the restaurant invites guests to visit in its final weeks ‘as we celebrate the legacy of Giulia and the community we’ve been fortunate to be a part of.’
