The Soho property announced the closure in an Instagram post that thanked guests for their support, saying: ‘We want to thank you, because the staggering support you’ve shown us throughout our journey has been anything but traditional.’
Rather than focus on the closure, the business said it wanted to celebrate its achievements: ‘Announcements like this are often peppered with a sense of sadness, but instead, we’d rather celebrate what we built together,’ the post reads.
Chateau Denmark opened in Soho in April 2022. Located across 16 buildings, the boutique hotel comprised 55 Session Rooms, located in The Now Building, and apartments housed in a collection of Grade II listed townhouses, a mews house and mansion buildings along Denmark Street. The development also included Chinese restaurant group Tattu’s first London site, located in The Now Building.
In 2023, cocktail bar Thirteen and its underground sister venue dial8 opened within Chateau Denmark. Operated by CAW Ventures’ Carrie Wicks and Alan Petrie, the two venues were designed to offer a contemporary take on the traditional hotel bar, occupying two floors at 1-3 Denmark Street.
The hotel concluded the post saying both bars will continue to operate ‘welcoming many more good times’.
