A LinkedIn job listing for the new venue states that Edmondo will open in Bank in October. The post comes more than a year-and-a-half after it was first revealed that it was looking at a site in the City.
The London opening will be the second Edmondo site, following the brand’s debut in Hamburg, Germany, in 2023. It will become Big Mamma’s seventh restaurant in the capital and follows the opening of Barbarella in Canary Wharf, which opened last year.
Edmondo serves classic Italian cuisine, including a selection of pizzas and fresh pasta, alongside dishes such as risotto with langoustine bisque, grilled sea bass with clams; and beef carpaccio with confit tomatoes, rocket and Parmigiano Reggiano.
Founded by Victor Lugger and Tigrane Seydoux, Big Mamma operates more than 35 restaurants across Europe, with eight sites in the UK. The group revealed earlier this year plans to open its first restaurant in the US at Juno Beach, South Florida, which it will open as part of a 50/50 partnership with Chicago-based group Ballyhoo Hospitality.
