50 Best, the global hospitality rankings and awards brand owned by Restaurant publisher William Reed, has rebranded as The 50.

The new name brings its restaurant, bar, hotel and vineyard rankings, awards, editorial content and Discovery platform under a single identity.

First launched by Restaurant magazine as a global restaurant ranking called The World’s 50 Best Restaurants in 2002, 50 Best has since expanded into bars, hotels and vineyards, alongside events and year-round editorial content.

William reed says the new identity reflects that broader remit and is intended to strengthen connections between consumers, hospitality businesses and commercial partners.

The rebrand will include a unified website, simplified naming conventions and a new visual identity centred on a gemstone formed from 50 individual pieces.

“Hospitality is ultimately about human connection, and that will remain central to everything we do,” says Rikki Tidball, managing director of events at The 50.

“The 50 gives us a stronger platform to bring people together, unlock new opportunities and support the long-term success of our industry.”

Lisa Green, managing director of content at The 50, adds: “The 50 creates a platform for year-round storytelling, opening up new ways to champion the voices, ideas and innovations shaping hospitality.

“Through content, conversation and cultural relevance, we can extend our impact beyond the rankings themselves and tell the stories that matter to our global community.”

The 50 will retain its existing independent voting academies, ranking methodologies and third-party adjudication processes.

The first awards programme to adopt the identity will be The 50 Best Hotels 2026, taking place in Paris in September. The branding will subsequently be introduced across the group’s other rankings, awards and platforms throughout the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
