ORG, which is run by chef Andrew Sheridan and his business partners Sam and Emma Morgan, took on the former Native site in May last year with chef Curtis Winstone, whose CV includes Da Terra in London and Lucknam Park near Bath, heading up the kitchen.
The group has confirmed that the restaurant is no longer part of its portfolio and is instead focusing on its investment on the newly-opened Arcadian in Didsbury, as well as the upcoming The Counter in Manchester and Seel & Slater in Liverpool, which is replacing the former Wreck Bistro restaurant.
The closure marks yet another change at Netherwood Estate venue, which has had a chequered past over the past few years since it was launched by Lee Westcott in 2019. In late 2023, then Pensons owner Peta Darnley announced the restaurant would close due to ‘relentless inflationary pressure’.
It was then taken over by Native, which was at the time backed by Andrew Fishwick’s restaurant investment outfit Hestia Hospitality. Native founder Ivan Tisdall-Downes stepped down as executive chef after less than a year and the restaurant was bought by ORG last year.
ORG operates a growing portfolio of eight restaurants, predominantly in the north of England. Founded in 2019, the group operates 9 restaurants, including its flagship 8 By Andrew Sheridan in Liverpool, Noted in Cheshire, Dishes in Prestatyn in Wales, Black & Green in Barnt Green in Worcestershire, and Sip & Slice in Sutton Coldfield.
