Shiri Kraus and Amir Batito, the duo behind Camden steak restaurant The Black Cow and Epicurus Camden, are opening a Levantine restaurant on the former site of The Dark Horse pub.

Due to open later this month in Camden Stables Market’s North Yard, Igra Rama will serve charcoal-grilled skewers and Middle Eastern mezze.

Skewers will include onglet, lamb neck, chicken hearts and prawns, while the £55-per-person Hamsa Hamsa feast will offer bottomless mezze and skewers.

The dining room is designed to evoke “the familiarity of a grandmother’s living room”, and the venue will be available for private hire for up to 150 guests.

“We wanted to create somewhere that feels like being invited into someone’s home,” says co-founder and chef Shiri Kraus. “Not the kind of home where you’re scared to spill something on the sofa. The kind where everyone talks at once, someone is always telling you to eat more and you end up staying much longer than you planned. That’s the feeling we wanted to bring to Igra Rama—whether you’re joining us for dinner or taking over the space for a massive celebration with friends.”

The Dark Horse opened early last year as a collaboration between Le Bab co-founders Stephen Tozer and Ed Brunet and music venue Tape London.

The pub paired British classics and Sunday roasts with live music and industry events.

It took over from The Farrier, which closed in 2024, citing the challenges of trading in an area reliant on seasonal tourism.
