The Syrian chef will open a second site of his Imad’s Syrian Kitchen at British Land’s Norton Folgate development, joining his restaurant in Soho and cafe in Somerset House.
Located on Blossom Street, the new restaurant will join Norton Folgate’s food and beverage line-up that includes Xi Home, Kolamba East, Osteria Angelina, Urban Greens and Blank Street Coffee.
After fleeing Syria and arriving in the UK as a refugee, Alarnab ran a number of pop-ups in East London before opening a restaurant in Soho’s Kingly Court in 2021. Two years later he relocated the restaurant a few doors down to occupy a larger site within the development.
In autumn last year he opened daytime cafe Aram within London’s Somerset House.
“Stories like Imad’s are exactly what make places special,” says Alice Keown, leasing director at British Land. “Great hospitality is about more than food; it’s about people, resilience, community and creating destinations that people want to return to time and again.
Norton Folgate will also be home to Kong, a new project from two-Michelin-starred chef Andrew Wong and Dishoom co-founder Amar Radia. The Chinese pub in will be an anchor tenant at the development and is due to open its doors next month.
British Land says there is now have just one restaurant opportunity remaining at Norton Folgate.
