US-born sub brand Jersey Mike’s has confirmed three further central London sites ahead of its UK debut next month.

Early last month, it was revealed that the brand -which is Subway’s closest competitor, with 3,300 locations across North America - had secured a site on Soho’s Argyll Street.

At the time, it said it had three further locations lined up. These have now been revealed as New Oxford Street, moments from Tottenham Court Road; Baker Street; and Covent Garden’s Cranbourn Street.

Founded in 1956 in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, Jersey Mike’s specialises in made-to-order hot and cold subs, with meats and cheeses sliced in-store, vegetables prepared daily and bread baked throughout the day.

Its signature ‘juice’ – a combination of red wine vinegar and oil – forms part of its ‘Mike’s Way’ preparation, which sees subs topped with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, oregano and salt.

The expansion is being led by Jersey Mike’s chairman Peter Cancro, whose connection to the brand stretches back to its original Jersey Shore sandwich shop.

Satnam Leihal, chief executive of Jersey Mike’s UK & Ireland, says: “We’re incredibly excited to finally reveal the first four locations that will introduce Jersey Mike’s to the UK. We wanted to start right in the heart of London, and these sites put us in four brilliant, high-footfall locations across the capital.

“Argyll Street will be the first opportunity for people here to experience what has made Jersey Mike’s such a loved brand in the US, but it’s only the beginning. We have ambitious plans for the UK and Ireland and can’t wait to start welcoming our first customers through the doors this November.”

Exact opening dates for each restaurant, alongside further details on Jersey Mike’s UK menu and launch activity, will be revealed in the coming weeks.
