Asian condiment brand Mei Mei Goods will launch a three-month residency at Platter, John Lewis Oxford Street, from 4 November.

Founded by Mei Mei chef Elizabeth Haigh and Renee St John, the brand will build the residency menu around the three products: Mei Mei Sweet Soy Sauce, House Chilli Sriracha Sauce and Hot Honey.

The residency will run alongside the brand’s launch of the sauces in 249 Waitrose stores on 9 November.

The menu, showcased across Platter’s bar menu, will include sticky pulled pork sliders, made with Sweet Soy and House Chilli Sriracha and topped with pickled red onion, alongside crispy fried chicken glazed with the same sauces.

Mei Mei Hot Honey will be served with a charcuterie board of chorizo, prosciutto, olives, gherkins and crusty bread, as well as a cheeseboard featuring Cashel Blue and Black Bomber cheeses. Seasonal dishes include hot honey pigs in blankets and pizza diavola finished with a drizzle of honey.

“This partnership lets us show the sauces exactly as they were intended to be used: generously, creatively and at the centre of a dish,” says Haigh.

“Platter gives customers the opportunity to experience Mei Mei flavours in a restaurant setting, then take those same flavours home from Waitrose.”

The partnership with John Lewis Partnership comes as Mei Mei Goods approaches its first anniversary. The brand has already secured online distribution through Ocado.com, with the Waitrose listing extending its retail presence.

Mei Mei Goods is inspired by Haigh’s restaurant Mei Mei in Borough Market, London. The business describes itself as women-built and B Corp-certified, with a focus on bringing restaurant-quality flavours into home cooking.

Prior to launching Mei Mei in 2019 Haigh attracted a Michelin star for her cooking at Hackey restaurant Pidgin.
