Dave’s Hot Chicken will open its second Newcastle restaurant at Metrocentre, Gateshead this month.

The LA-born Nashville-style hot chicken brand will bring its menu of chicken tenders and sliders to the new site, with customers able to choose from its seven-level heat scale, ranging from Not Hot to Reaper, which requires customers to sign a waiver.

The menu will also include mac and cheese, kale slaw, loaded fries and the newly launched ‘saucy bites’ alongside milkshakes and slushers.

“The North East has already shown us just how much it loves Dave’s Hot Chicken, so we’re turning up the heat with another location,” says Keyana Mohammadi, director of marketing at Dave’s Hot Chicken UK.

“Since opening in Newcastle, we’ve had an incredible response from local chicken lovers, and bringing Dave’s to Metrocentre feels like the perfect next step.

“As one of the region’s biggest shopping and leisure destinations, it’s an exciting opportunity to introduce even more people to our signature Nashville-style hot chicken.”

Ben Cox, Metrocentre asset director, adds: “Food and drink are a huge part of what makes people linger for longer at Metrocentre and we are always on the look-out for the next big names to add something new and fresh into the mix.

“Cult favourite Dave’s Hot Chicken dishes up exactly that, bringing its unmistakable, high-energy street food to The Qube, complete with a choice of spice levels that will appeal to everyone from the mildest palates to braver heat-seekers.”

The brand is operated in the UK in partnership with Azzurri Group. The new site follows the launch of its second Manchester location, which opened earlier this month at the Trafford Centre.

In 2025 Dave’s Hot Chicken won One to Watch at the R200 Awards following its successful debut in London, where the first location became the highest grossing site ever launched by Azzurri Group.
