Barson is leading a revamp of the regenerative farm’s Farm Caff, which is billed as a genuine farm-to-table experience in which ‘guests see how and where the food is grown, then dine in the heart of a real working farm’.
Early next year the chef will introduce weekly suppers at Farm Caff, which will feature a set menu of slightly more refined dishes that are based on seasonal produce from Higher Farm and its neighbours
Barson - who grew up in and started his cooking career in the South West - is also set to launch a restaurant at the site in the near future.
The chef is best-known for his stint at London’s Kitty Fisher’s and Cora Pearl.
Both the restaurants – which are owned by Oliver Milburn, Tom Mullion and Tim Steel – featured on Restaurant’s list of the top 100 places to eat in the UK while under his direction.
In 2022, he joined Bath’s The Beckford Canteen as head chef, attracting positive reviews from national restaurant critics Grace Dent and Giles Coren.
He parted ways with the group early this year.
Prior to joining Kitty Fisher’s Barson worked at River Cottage, Viajante, Dinner by Heston Blumenthal and Jamie Oliver’s Fifteen.
