The 10-week residency, starting in September, will bring the restaurant’s signature food and cocktail offering to the venue, with a dedicated space transformed to reflect the brand’s identity. If successful it could see Trejo’s roll out at scale.
Guests will be able to choose from a curated menu featuring a selection of the restaurant’s best-known dishes, including carnitas, OG battered fish, spicy shrimp, fried chicken and mushroom asada tacos, alongside street corn, chips and guacamole, and chips with assorted salsa. A selection of the brand’s signature cocktails will also be available.
Throughout the residency, Puttshack will prepare the restaurant’s food and beverages using proprietary recipes, with ongoing support from the restaurant’s UK team to help maintain consistency and quality.
The residency will also include a programme of events, including a VIP launch party, Day of the Dead celebrations and an exclusive film screening with Danny Trejo followed by a live audience Q&A.
“Since opening our first international restaurant on Portobello Road, we’ve seen just how well our authentic Cal-Mex food and cocktail offering resonate with British diners,” says Jerome Armit, Co-CEO of Trejo’s Tacos UK.
“Trejo’s has always been about more than great food - it’s about creating an atmosphere where people come together through food, drinks and culture.
“Puttshack shares that philosophy, making it the ideal partner for this residency.
“Together we’re creating an experience that gives guests plenty of reasons to return throughout the 10 weeks, from the food and cocktails to a programme of events that celebrates everything the Trejo’s brand stands for.”
Founded by Hollywood actor, restaurateur and bestselling author Danny Trejo, Trejo’s Tacos was first established in Los Angeles in 2016. The brand has since expanded to the UK, opening its first outpost in 2024 on Portobello Road in Notting Hill.
