Paris-born lobster roll brand Homer Lobster will open its first permanent site outside France in Soho next month, following a successful pop-up on the South Bank last year.

The restaurant will take over the D’Arblay Street site previously occupied by matcha brand Happiness.

Entrepreneur Moïse Sfez founded Homer Lobster in Paris’s Marais district in 2017, having trained at Vatel hospitality school and worked for Alain Ducasse.

He has since taken his lobster rolls to pop-ups and events around the world, including in Monaco and Maine.

Homer Lobster now operates a string of sites in Paris as well as outposts in Saint-Tropez, Cannes and Nice.

The Soho menu will major on the brand’s signature lobster roll, served in a warm, house-made brioche bun brushed with melted butter.

The lobster is dressed in mayonnaise made with a secret blend of spices and finished with a squeeze of lime and a scattering of chives.

Other favourites from the Paris menu will include a tuna melt made with tuna belly and house-smoked Norwegian salmon pastrami.

Diners will be able to add Sologne caviar to any sandwich.

“Bringing Homer Lobster to London has always been a dream,” says Sfez.

“This city lives and breathes food, and it understands a truly great sandwich when it sees one.”
