StreetSmart’s 2026 winter campaign launches on 1 November, with restaurants across the UK inviting diners to make a voluntary £1 donation per table throughout November and December to support projects tackling homelessness.

Now in its 29th year, the campaign supports people experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity, from those sleeping rough to young people at risk of losing their homes. Donations fund frontline projects providing practical support, including meals, emergency accommodation, healthcare, training, housing advice and routes into permanent housing.

StreetSmart has raised more than £16.2 million for charities across the UK since launching in 1998. The campaign is fully funded by LandAid, the property industry charity working to end youth homelessness, meaning 100% of donations go directly to charitable projects, with no deductions for campaign costs.

Funds raised remain within the communities where they are collected, supporting local organisations working to address homelessness in their areas.

Among the restaurants joining the campaign for the first time in 2026 are Joro in Sheffield, Trillium in Birmingham, and 2210 by Natty Can Cook, Cloth Cornhill, Lunette and Bar Blondie in London. They join established supporters including St John, Barrafina and Gymkhana, alongside restaurant groups such as Lina Stores and The Wolseley.

The campaign also receives support fro Moor Hall, the three-Michelin-starred restaurant led by chef Mark Birchall, which participates annually.

“Unfortunately, homelessness is a very real issue all over the UK,” says Birchall.

“The discretionary £1 donation is a small contribution which can make a huge difference.

“We are so pleased to be able to support this cause and incredible work that StreetSmart does locally and across the country.”

StreetSmart’s hospitality and media partners include the MICHELIN Guide, The Good Food Guide, OpenTable, TopJaw, Broadsheet and The Standard, which help promote the campaign and encourage participation.

The campaign also highlights the scale of youth homelessness. Government figures cited by StreetSmart put the number of young people aged 18 to 25 at risk of being without a home at 123,000.

In 2025, the campaign raised £1,178,000. StreetSmart is aiming to build on that total through its 2026 appeal, which is open to restaurants, pubs and hotels of all sizes.
