Encanto Kitchen, which served a fusion of Spanish, Mexican and Tex-Mex cuisine, has announced it has closed its doors due to financial difficulties.

The restaurant shared the news in a statement posted on Instagram, revealing that it had reached a point where it was “simply unable to continue trading”.

Announcing the closure, the team said: “It is with a very heavy heart that we have to announce that Encanto Kitchen has closed its doors.”

The restaurant described the decision as an unexpected and difficult end, adding: “This is certainly not how we ever imagined things would end, and we are deeply saddened to be sharing this news.”

Encanto Kitchen’s dishes included mint and herb lamb patties; tropical chicken skewers; calamari served with chipotle mayonnaise; and barbecue pork ribs. Desserts included warm fried churros.

Its drinks offering featured classic cocktails such as a piña colada and Aperol spritz, alongside a lemon drop martini and hazelnut espresso martini.

The restaurant confirmed that it was working through its bookings and contacting customers individually, apologising for the short notice and any disappointment caused, particularly for those who had planned special occasions.

The statement also acknowledged the restaurant’s staff, thanking the team for their contribution and the customers who had supported the business over the years.

Despite the closure, the owners expressed their hope that the restaurant could have a future under new ownership, while making clear that nothing had been confirmed.

Concluding the announcement, the team said: “We’re truly sorry that things have ended this way.”

They added: “With love and gratitude” before signing off as The Encanto Kitchen team.
