Street food collective KERB and major London landlord Shaftesbury are teaming up to open a food hall concept in a former warehouse building in Covent Garden.

Located off Seven Dials in a 19th century site that was originally built to store fruit and veg, Seven Dials Market will be KERB’s bricks and mortar debut and is expected to open next summer.

Arranged across two floors, the 22,000 sq ft market will “reflect the building’s heritage and bring a taste of modern London to the former independent banana and cucumber warehouse.”

The trader mix will include street food outfits as well as those selling deli items such as artisan pies and fresh bread, plus a florist and bookshop. The site will also house a learning space with regular workshops hosted by London’s food entrepreneurs for the local community.

“We have been seeking a special space in which to launch a destination, world-beating food hall for some time, and there is nowhere better than Thomas Neal’s Warehouse,” says Simon Mitchell, managing director of KERB and curator of Seven Dials Market. “The iconic building situated in the Borough of Camden - where KERB was founded and is home to many incredible KERB events over the years - is the ideal stage to showcase many of the great food talents London has to offer.”

Founded in 2010 by Petra Barran, KERB current;y runs eight London street food markets and acts as an incubator for up-and-coming food brands.

Further details about Seven Dials Market will be announced in the coming months.
