In a post shared on Instagram, the company revealed it would be shifting its focus back to ‘its roots and what we do best,’ concentrating on residencies, festivals and events.
The business added that it was currently busier than it had ever been and said it was looking forward to putting more energy into its events operation.
Formed in 2017 by Matthew Jefferies, also known as Mr. Woozy, the brand built its reputation through street food-style catering before opening its Cheltenham restaurant in 2025.
The company currently operates two full-time residencies at Dunkertons Park - one under The Woozy Pig name, serving smash burgers and loaded fries, and another called Casa Loca Tacos, which offers Mexican-inspired dishes including tacos, buffalo wings and loaded nacho bowls. In the social media post, the business promised ‘exciting new menu additions’ at both sites while adding that it was ‘sure this won’t be our last bricks-and-mortar’.
Despite the closure, the team said it was ‘so so proud’ of what had been built at the Suffolk Road venue and thanked customers for their support since opening. The post also highlighted the restaurant’s inclusion in OpenTable’s Top 100 Restaurants in the UK for 2026.
The final full week of service at the restaurant will take place this week, with customers holding bookings beyond 30 May set to be contacted directly. The company also confirmed that Deliveroo service is expected to continue ‘for the time being’ and teased plans for a farewell party.
The statement ended with a message encouraging people to continue supporting independent businesses in Cheltenham.
