Bustler’s new St James Yard development is set to be made up of around 20 shipping containers arranged across two levels. The site will house chef-led food concepts, restaurants, bars, independent retail and service-led businesses, alongside indoor and outdoor social spaces.
The company has also taken on a neighbouring building backing onto the development. The building will become Dukes, a Buxton Brewery taproom serving small-batch beers, with space for private hire and events.
Applications to join St James Yard have closed, with cookie brand Dollies already confirmed to be among the traders, serving American-style handmade cookies. Further trader announcements are due in the coming weeks.
“Dollies brings something really fun, energetic and different to the line-up,” says Olivia Pritchard, managing director of Bustler.
“Their branding is brilliant, the cookies are incredible and they’ve already built a really strong following across the Midlands.
“They’re exactly the kind of ambitious independent business we want to support at St James Yard.”
Bustler was founded in 2017. It began as a monthly street food market in Derby and has since expanded into a multi-venue operation, championing independent food traders across the East Midlands, operating in Derby and Nottingham.
