High-profile New York fried chicken concept Coqodaq will make its UK debut next week through a two-week residency at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat restaurant in Mayfair.

Coqodaq was founded by restaurateur Simon Kim in 2024 and is known for its premium take on Korean-American fried chicken.

The brand was recently featured in Netflix’s Knife’s Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, produced by Gordon Ramsay, which followed Coqodaq’s pursuit of its first Michelin star. While the restaurant ultimately did not receive the accolade, it currently holds a Michelin Bib Gourmand.

For the London collaboration, Coqodaq will bring two exclusive menu offerings, including a 24 Karat Golden Nugget topped with golden daurenki caviar; and the ‘ultra-premium ’Black gold’ version with seasonal truffle.

Guests will also be able to order bluefin tuna tartare with Calabrian chilli soy sauce; and the Double Deuce ‘cocqtail’, which is served at the restaurant during the US Open season in New York.

The brand has an ingredient-led approach, using certified humane, hormone- and antibiotic-free chicken alongside a proprietary spice blend and gluten-free rice flour batter.

In addition to the dine-in offering, Coqodaq’s signature orange takeaway boxes will be available throughout the residency.

“Simon has built something incredibly special in New York with Coqodaq,” says Ramsay.

“It’s honestly some of the best fried chicken I’ve ever tasted.

“I’m excited for this partnership moment, for the first time in the UK, Coqodaq’s world-famous nugget lands at Lucky Cat Mayfair this summer.

“Get ready, I promise this is the dish you won’t want to miss.”

Simon Kim, founder & CEO, Gracious Hospitality Management adds: “I’ve always looked up to Gordon Ramsay and I am delighted for this opportunity to collaborate with him and his team of excellence! I love London and its whole vibe.”

The residency comes as London’s appetite for fried chicken concepts continues to grow, with a number of US brands, including Dave’s Hot Chicken and Houston Hot Chicken, entering the market.

The pop-up will run from 29 June to 12 July.
