The top line: One of Glasgow’s best-known restaurants has relocated. Launched by Dean and Anna Parker in 2021, Celentano’s closed at the end of last year following the sale of the building that housed it. Celentano’s at the Arthouse hotel is described as an evolution of the Bib Gourmand-holding restaurant. Produce-led and rooted in minimal-waste practices, the kitchen will remain focused on nose-to-tail cookery, fermentation and preservation, with many ingredients cooked over embers. Almost everything is made in-house, from bread, pasta and charcuterie to gelato.

On the menu: The menu builds on Celentano’s previous offering at Cathedral House, with a focus on Italian-inspired dishes designed to share, but with fresh additions for the restaurant’s new home. To start, snacks and antipasti include signature dishes such as smoked cod doughnuts with kimchi; and lasagne fritte with porcini and Cora Linn, return, joined by newcomers including mackerel crudo with cucumber, radish and green apple; and stracciatella with sourdough crumb. Primi are available in both small and large portions, with highlights including agnolotti with Mossgiel ricotta, courgette, green olive and pumpkin seed; and BBQ Dexter beef with Dexter beef ragù and cora linn. Secondi showcases meat and fish butchered in-house, including Kames trout tail, dayboat monkfish and a daily selection of steaks, accompanied by sides such as beef fat potato strati. Desserts include the return of Celentano’s signature affogato and Celentano’s tiramisù, which has joined the menu after proving popular at the restaurant’s spring 2026 pop-ups across Glasgow. The drinks programme features cocktails overseen by Anna, many incorporating surplus ingredients from the kitchen to reduce waste. Signature serves include the Celentano’s negroni and the Celentano’s chilli margarita. The wine list focuses on European organic and biodynamic producers, including wines on tap, with selections changing throughout the year to complement the menu.

The vibe: Designed by A-nrd, the restaurant extends the studio’s wider concept for the 76-bedroom hotel as an ‘artist’s residence’, creating an understated dining environment. A stripped-back bistro aesthetic combines reclaimed timber flooring, exposed brickwork, glazed tiles and timber detailing, preserving much of the building’s original character. At its heart sits a bespoke zinc-topped cocktail bar, surrounded by a mix of vintage and contemporary timber seating, banquettes and custom burr oak and hand-hammered zinc tables crafted by Scottish makers. A semi-private dining room enclosed by soft curtains offers a more intimate setting, while the open kitchen pass brings theatre to the 60-cover restaurant.
And another thing: Arthouse Glasgow is the first opening from new hotel group Oberland.
