The top line: From its Milan flagship to international locations, including the seventh floor of Cheval Blanc Paris, the bay of Paraggi, Sardinia’s Porto Cervo and the mountaintop setting of St Moritz, Langosteria has now arrived in London. Located within The OWO in Whitehall Place, the new restaurant brings the group’s signature seafood-led identity to the capital while developing a character of its own for the London dining scene. Describing itself as ‘a fine dining restaurant with Italian roots’, Langosteria London celebrates the sea through a menu focused on quality ingredients sourced from around the world, combining Italian culinary traditions with a contemporary international approach.
On the menu: Led by head of operations Michele Biassoni, Langosteria London combines the group’s signature dishes with new creations developed exclusively for its UK debut. The menu is divided into a series of sections, beginning with the Oyster Bar, where the standout plateau royale features steamed king crab, Brittany blue lobster, a selection of 10 oysters, gambero rosso, langoustines, mozzarella prawns, almond clams, sea truffles and bulots. The crudo section includes dishes such as tonno rosso carpaccio; and langoustine tartare with foie gras, while starters range from tiepido di mare – a seafood salad - to frittura langosteria, comprising gambero rosso, langoustines and calamari. For mains, highlights include black grouper chateaubriand to share, alongside a dedicated pasta section featuring linguine with Brittany blue lobster; and paccheri with seabass. The menu also showcases Langosteria favourites, including the king crab special edition 2007; and Brittany lobster ‘spicy blue’. Desserts continue the Italian influence with classics including tiramisù and stracciatella ice cream, overseen by corporate pastry chef Daniele Bonzi. The wine list, curated by Langosteria Group corporate wine manager Valentina Bertini, features a broad selection of both established and niche labels, including rare vintages, all designed to complement the menu.
The vibe: Langosteria London manages to maintain the atmosphere of a traditional fine dining restaurant while incorporating the playful seafood-inspired illustrations that are part of the brand’s identity. The restaurant is divided into three main areas, beginning with a circular bar positioned beneath a concentric ceiling feature directly opposite the entrance. The space then flows into the main dining room, with both areas overlooking the wine cellars, which act as central design features. The transition into the Historical Room is marked by two entrance points, revealing a space that immediately feels distinct from the rest of the restaurant. The room retains its historic character through stone fireplaces and stucco ceilings, which sit alongside contemporary Langosteria detailing. Silk wall coverings, entirely hand painted and embroidered with the brand’s signature imagery, bring the restaurant’s identity into the space, while Italian craftsmanship is showcased through details including Venini lamps, Verde Alpi marble floors and Medea bespoke seating. Attention to detail runs throughout the restaurant, from the changing lighting as the evening progresses to the smallest elements of the guest experience, including dedicated stools for handbags and a handheld iron discreetly brought out to ensure carefully maintained table settings. A private dining room completes the space, offering a more intimate setting within the wider restaurant.

And another thing: Before becoming Langosteria London, the restaurant’s historical room had previously served as the official meeting venue of the Old War Office.
