Ivan Orkin will open a second Ivan Ramen restaurant in London later this month, following the success of his Farringdon site which launched late last year.

The 28-cover restaurant on Askew Road, near Shepherd’s Bush, will be slightly larger than the 26-cover Farringdon site.

Signature dishes will include karaage and crispy nasu, alongside shoyu, spicy miso red chilli and tonkotsu ramen.

The menu will expand in mid-December to include dishes such as katsu curry.

The interiors will take cues from Japanese ramen bars and New York diners, with counter and banquette seating and the brand’s signature manga lightbox.

As with the Farringdon restaurant, the new site is a partnership with food brand growth platform Sessions.

“It’s so exciting to be opening a second site in London, a city that I love and is a real hub for food, culture and creativity,” says Orkin. “London has embraced Ivan Ramen from the very beginning, so I’m thrilled to be able to bring the experience to even more people. We’re looking forward to becoming part of the neighbourhood and continuing to share a menu that we’ve poured a lot of thought, history and flavour into.”

Orkin opened his first permanent UK restaurant on Farringdon Road after running Ivan Ramen pop-ups in Brighton and London in 2023.

Originally from Long Island, Orkin made his name with two ramen shops in Tokyo before returning to New York, where he went on to open two Ivan Ramen sites.

He featured in Netflix’s Chef’s Table in 2017.
