The family-run seafood specialist, led by Ben Wright and Robin Hancock, will open the restaurant on 28 November, adding to its sites in Borough Market, Battersea Power Station and South Kensington.
The Covent Garden restaurant will combine British and European seafood with simple flavours of the Mediterranean, influenced by the pair’s travels across the coastlines of southern Europe.
Kevin Gratton, from Samphire and Sage and previously of Scott’s Mayfair, will oversee the menu development and leading the kitchen will be head chef Jaspal Flora, who joins Wright Brothers from 45 Jermyn Street.
Dished on the menu will include butter-grilled oysters with black winter truffle; blue belly shrimps with citrus fruits and jalapeño; winter leaf salad with bottarga, shaved pecorino and pine nuts; and ink braised cuttlefish with sea aster.
Fruit de Mer platters will also be available featuring whole Devon crab, Atlantic prawns, clams, mussels and whelks and Wright Brothers’ extensive range of oysters from the UK, Ireland and France will also be on offer.
To finish there will be Oyster Gelato, with olive oil and caviar.
The new restaurant will occupy the site of a former tobacco factory, where Great Queen Street meets Drury Lane, on the site that was previously home to Italian restaurant Margot and which has remained vacant since it closed in June 2025.
Design features will include teal leather banquette seating, dark wood panelling, and cafe curtains. It will also have a scallop-tiled bar with a seafood display that will fill the back of the space, with high counter seating.
“Opening this beautiful site in one of London’s most vibrant locations is another step forward in a two-decade journey that began with a deep passion for oysters and seafood,” Wright and Hancock say.
“Our mission is simple: exceptional produce, trusted relationships and a love for bringing people together for great seafood and good times.”
Founded in 2002, Wright Brothers is one of the UK’s leading premium seafood suppliers.
