The new restaurant, located at Armada Way, will occupy a 2,000sq ft site split across two floors with seating for approximately 45 customers. The opening also marks the brand’s first location in Devon and its 13th restaurant across the UK.
It will officially open on 3 July as one of the hospitality businesses to join Plymouth’s regenerated city-centre quarter.
The restaurant will offer dine-in, takeaway and delivery services, serving the brand’s signature Korean corndogs alongside Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, kimbap and cup bap rice bowls. Halal meat will be used across the menu, with vegetarian options also available.
Founded by Jae Cho and operated by the Maguro Group, BUNSIK launched in London in 2021 and has since expanded across the UK, sparking a ‘nationwide craze’ for its Korean corndogs and amassing millions of views across TikTok and Instagram.
The Plymouth opening follows the brand’s recent launches in Bristol and Southampton as the brand continues its national expansion.
“Everyone at BUNSIK is incredibly excited to be bringing the brand to Plymouth and opening our first restaurant in Devon,” says Jae Cho, founder of BUNSIK.
“We have been looking for the right location in the city and Armada Way felt like the perfect fit.
“The transformation taking place in the city centre makes this a particularly exciting moment to join Plymouth’s food scene, and we are looking forward to welcoming everyone through our doors.”
The Plymouth restaurant is operated by franchise partner ZK Group, which has an established presence on Armada Way through neighbouring CUPP Bubble Tea and German Doner Kebab. BUNSIK marks the group’s latest investment in the area.
Zubari Ali, director of ZK Group, adds: “Having already established two businesses on Armada Way, we have seen first-hand the strength and potential of this part of the city centre.
“BUNSIK brings a fresh and distinctive concept to our growing portfolio, and we believe it will resonate strongly with Plymouth’s residents, students, shoppers and visitors.
“We look forward to building on our commitment to the area and continuing to play an active role in the local community.”
The opening comes as Armada Way prepares to officially reopen on 4 July following a major regeneration programme.
