Market Halls is partnering with London-based food waste charity The Felix Project to host a digital, three-day fundraising event over the bank holiday weekend.

The virtual festival, which will run from Saturday to Monday (23 to 25 May), will feature a full programme of online activities that users can participate in through a charity donation.

In total Market Halls will host more than 22 activities over the three day period including wellness mornings; food and drink masterclasses; acoustic sofa sessions; and arts and craft classes for kids.

Each session encourages the minimum of a £5 donation.

The online programme of events has been curated by Ed Lewis-Pratt and Ollie Davies, with the hope 'of bringing some joy and positivity' to a weekend that traditionally sees people going out with friends and visiting restaurants, pubs, clubs and bars all over the UK.

The three-day extravaganza will raise money to provide essential support to those that need the most help during the current Coronavirus crisis.

The Covid-19 outbreak has resulted in a tremendous increase in demand for The Felix Project's services, with operations quadrupling since lockdown started.

In April alone, 1.6 million meals were delivered across the capital by the charity.

The money raised from the Market Halls Virtual Festival will be split equally between The Felix Project; Hospitality Action; and mental health awareness project, Hospro.
