'Fine fast food' brand Yolk is to launch its third London site later this month on Golden Square in Soho, with founders Nick Philpot and Alkesh Tandon eyeing further expansion.

The 700 sq ft site will be open Monday to Saturday and have 12 covers indoors with potential for terrace seating come summer.

As with the group's other sites, Yolk Soho will serve a menu of breakfast, lunch and baked goods that are all prepared freshly on-site.

A range of sandwiches is served throughout the day and includes a bacon bap at breakfast made using sweet-cured streaky bacon from Tom Hixson of Smithfield and served on focaccia-dough baps; and a steak Rueben at lunch with sauerkraut, cheddar, gherkin, 'secret sauce' and mayonnaise.

There's also a selection of poached egg pots served in the morning that include a 'smoky benedict' of smoked ham hock, poached eggs and house-made hollandaise.

A range of hotpots and salad bowls are also available on the lunch menu.

Philpot has previously said that Yolk was 'born out of frustration'.

Founded in 2015, the brand started out life with a series of residencies and pop-ups and put down roots in 2018 with a permanent spot on New Street Square.

A year later this was followed by a site in Broadgate.

Philpot and Tandon say they suspect that Soho 'will be the first of a number of launches' for Yolk across the capital in the next year.
