Marcus Verberne, head chef, Roast
Iqbal Wahhab’s acclaimed Borough Market-based restaurant Roast has appointed Marcus Verberne as head chef.
Verberne arrives at Roast having worked alongside Mark Hix for over a decade at Le Caprice, J Sheekey, The Ivy and Hix at The Albemarle, with his role at the latter rewarded with 3 AA rosettes.
In 2008, he joined Brown's Hotel as head chef, subsequently promoted to the position of Executive Chef in August 2010. A number of Verberne’s new dishes for Roast will be available immediately, with the entire menu unveiled in March.
