EB Safety Shield is 100 per cent natural and recyclable, and absorbs 98 per cent of the grease usually evacuated through extractor hoods, reducing restaurants’ environmental impact and cleaning costs.

Steve Smith, managing director at Grease Prevention Systems International, the US company that sold the product to Environmental Biotech for the UK market, explained because the natural materials the filter is made of would help it extinguish a starting fire.

USP

“It improves restaurants’ fire safety profiles and eliminates the need to wash the exhaust hood, cutting their water usage. When the filter needs to be changed, we collect it to recycle the grease it contains into biofuel,” said Smith.

The filter was created in Australia 12 years ago and has been present on the US market for three years.
