Joycelyn Neve has joined the British Institute of Innkeeping (BII) as a non-executive director.
Neve founded the Seafood Pub Company in 2010 at the age of 25 has seen the award-winning chain expand to seven sites across Lancashire.
Her role with the BII will be to bring her expertise and creative contribution to the table with the support of the institution’s trustees. She will be engaged to offer strategic direction and oversight of the business, and also connect the business and board with networks of industry influencers and organisations. Her role will also include calculating risk and audits.
Neve said: “The BII wants people to recognise the opportunities available in the hospitality sector, and see it as a credible career that you can do very well in. This perfectly aligns with what I am trying to instil in my team, and indeed what I have achieved in my own career, so I am keen to help build this awareness both within and outside of the industry.”
Tim Hulme, chief executive of the BII, said: “We’re proud to announce Joycelyn is our latest non-executive director, as she personifies exactly what we want to prove to entrants to the industry; that you can build a successful career in hospitality that will be hugely rewarding. Furthermore, as a considered food offering becomes ever more important to pubs, we believe she will provide exceptional insight for our members on developing this.”
