Matt Weedon, former head chef at the Michelin-starred Lords of the Manor, is joining the 10 in 8 Fine Dining Group’s latest restaurant The Bear at Woodstock as executive chef.
Weedon, who previously worked with the group’s chief executive Alan Murchison at L’Ortolan in Berkshire, will start his new role at the Macdonald Bear Hotel,a 13th-century coaching inn in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, next week.
“After five years at Lords of the Manor, it was time for a change and there aren’t many people in the industry I would like to work with again," said Weedon. "Alan is so enthusiastic and positive, he’s a great person to be around and I’m really excited about this opportunity.”
