James Allcock, chef-patron, 1884
1884 has shifted James Allcock into the role of chef-patron, a move that supports the successful opening first year of the restaurant.
Allcock's new role now allows him to really drive the vision of the restaurant forward and reflects the work he has done the in past twenty-four months, cooking, running the day-to-day and developing the business. The head chef role has been filled by Danny Wilson.
”I have brought on Danny to allow me to oversee the whole of the business," said Allcock. "I am stickler for detail and I love making sure our experience is valuable to every customer walking into the restaurant, even to our online visitors heading onto our new website, which is going live very soon.
"It also allows me to travel around Europe and research new ideas on food and drink – thus bringing dishes to Hull and the East Riding that will have never have been tasted before”.
